Suggestions for Festiva Owners!
TIP# 1: Obtain a Festiva/Aspire Haynes Repair Manual.
Festivas, with a few exceptions, are very easy to work on. I would recommend doing as
much work yourself as you can. I cannot tell you how many times I have taken my car someplace to be repaired, only to
be told that what I should do is get rid of it and get something else. And yet, my little car just keeps going and going.
So much for their advice. Huh?
TIP#2: Ignore Mechanics Who Tell You to Get Rid of Your Festiva!
As is written above, I have been told that many times, and my little car remains the most
reliable car I have owned.
Mod plans for the Batstiva:
Okay, obviously if you read the opening page, the plans have changed considerably. She is no
longer an upgrade project, but rather a resurrection project. Plans at this time consist of getting her back together,
and back on the road. Beyond that, the only mod under consideration at this time is an upgrade to Ford Aspire brakes.
And paint, she will definitely need body work and paint. If the engine is too far gone, and upgrade to a B6, or BP if
I decide to go with a fuel injection changeover. Once she is back on the road, under her own power, other things will
definitely be considered.
